Flopshop

What it is:

Flopshop is an initiative by Landa Penders. Landa Penders is a young upcoming photographer and she found out that Topshop used one of her pictures on a shirt, without letting her know or asking. First she was surprised, she saw it like a compliment, but when she looked on other blogs she found out it wasn’t. Big companies like Zara, H&M, New Look and Topshop are using pictures of people on their shirts without asking. So they are making money with someone else’s photos. With her project Flopshop she shows that it’s unfair of these companies to use stolen pictures.

FLOPSHOP stands for all the fashion chains that design, produce and sell their fashion without passion. It is time for originality, quality and honesty.”.

Why it’s cool:

People are done with accepting everything. Creative people want to be taken seriously. With this project there is a sign that we want respect from each other. People want to stand up for themself instead of watching the big companies stealing their pictures.
